QUESTION: What size cores can be deposited with the Halide deposition?
ANSWER:
Typical core sizes are around 3 mm but are by no means the limit. Much larger cores can be deposited by increasing core passes as is typically done with MCVD. In addition, higher SiCl4 flow rates can be used due to the ability to deliver higher rates of rare earth.
