AFL VFI4-L Visual Fault Locator with 2.5mm Adapter

VFI4-02-0900PR

AFL Global VFI4-L Visual Fault Identifier. 1mW, 650nm Wavelength. Class II/2, 2.5mm, VFL/VFI
The AFL VFI4 Visible Fault Identifier (VFI), also known as a Visual Fault Locator (VFL), is a compact, rugged tool essential for fiber installation and maintenance. It emits a bright 650 nm red laser that escapes from sharp bends, breaks, or poorly mated connectors, making it easy to pinpoint faults in single-mode or multimode fibers.

Designed for field use, the VFI4 fiber optic visual fault locator features both CW and pulse modes, a 2.5 mm universal adapter for FC, SC, and ST connectors. It operates for up to 30 hours on a single AA battery and fits easily on a keychain. With a range of up to 10 km, it's ideal for continuity checks, splice verification, connector validation, and locating issues within OTDR dead zones.

Features:

  • Eye-safe Class 3R visible red laser source (650 nm)
  • Includes 2.5 mm universal adapter
  • CW and 2 Hz pulse modes
  • Keychain-sized, rugged design

VFL Applications:

  • Locate faults (bends, breaks, poor connectors)
  • Trace fibers during installation and activation
  • Verify FASTConnect® connector installation
  • Identify fibers in patch panels or during splicing
  • Detect issues inside OTDR dead zones

Specifications:

  • Emitter: Laser, Class II (FDA), Class 2 (IEC)
  • Wavelength: 650 ±15 nm
  • Output Power: ≤1 mW
  • Modulation: CW or 2 Hz pulse
  • Model VFI4-L: 1 mW output, 4 km range
