The M83522 MIL-SPEC ST connector features a higher spring force than commercial ST fiber connectors, enabling it to withstand the shock and vibration requirements specified in MIL-C-83522. Its stainless steel construction ensures exceptional mechanical strength and corrosion resistance.
The Commercial-Off-the-Shelf (COTS) version of the ST connector, which is U.S. Navy approved, provides the same rugged design but with a spring force more aligned with commercial ST connectors. Its ideal for use in shock-isolated environments or where interoperability with commercial electronics is required. The COTS version is well suited for applications demanding corrosion resistance and mechanical strength without full MIL-SPEC qualification.
