Amphenol Fiber Systems International (AFSI) designs rugged hermaphroditic fiber optic connectors for deployable communication systems. Built for durability and performance, these connectors offer a cost-effective solution with simple maintenance and reliable optical performance.

The AFSI 109 Series hermaphroditic connectors provide maximum deployment flexibility and is a direct replacement for the TAC4. Each plug can act as either a plug or a receptacle, allowing seamless integration into various system architectures. This design enables cable assemblies to be daisy-chained, extending communication distances as needed in field applications.

The 109 Series meets or exceeds the SMPTE 358M standard for harsh-environment, multi-channel fiber optic connectors—making it ideal for demanding outdoor broadcast applications, including high-definition television (HDTV) signal transmission.
