ÅngströmLap® Sequoia Diamond Lapping Film Disc - 2 inch 1µm (micron), PSA

D1KT203P1

AngstromLap Sequoia 1um Diamond Lapping Film, 2" Disc with PSA Backing, single disc.
The ÅngströmLap Sequoia Diamond Lapping Film is an abrasive film used for polishing the end-face of fiber optic connectors. Its purpose is to shape the fiber geometries, such as restoring or forming the Radius of Curvature and Apex Offset of the ferrule. Diamond film exhibits an extended lifespan compared to conventional films, and its high-cut rate enables more efficient material removal for a faster polishing process.

The 2" disc is the standard size for the Ultra Tec Minipol-2 and UT-9005 series polishing machines.

Lapping Film Features:
  • Film Color: Lavender
  • Tape Total Thickness: 82.0 ± 2.5 µm
  • Surface Roughness: .60 ± 0.3 μm
  • Particle Type: Diamond film
  • Grit Size: 1.0 micron (1µm)
  • Base Film Material: Polyethylene terephthalate
  • Base Film Thickness: 3 mil (75 µm)
  • Quantity: Single disc
  • PSA Backed Film
  • Process Parameters Type: KT
  • Product Life: Guaranteed up to 5 years from the manufactured date
Pressure Sensitive Adhesive is only recommended when it is completely necessary. Once the film is stuck to the polish surface it cannot be removed and reused. This creates a potential and likely problem of debris adhering to the film that cannot be removed. Any debris that comes in contact with the fiber may cause a scratch. PSA will increase the cost of the lapping film.

Updates

Please note Product Change Notification:

Effective June 2025, the packaging of the ÅngströmLap® polishing film will be changed to a perforated packaging type from the previous zip packaging.

This is for all ÅngströmLap® products with a size of 5 inches or less.

For ÅngströmLap® products with a size of 6 inches or more, the packaging may be changed depending on if the back side is processed or not.

We are excited for these changes to:
  • Improve efficiency of mass production by changing packaging
  • Provide environmentally friendly packaging process
  • Prevent packaging errors
*There will be a period after June while FOC works through inventory materials packed in the previous style.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the FOC sales staff!
