OKP Osaka Gas Chemicals OKP1 Optical Plastic, 1.642 Refractive Index – 25 kg bag

OKP-1-25KG

Osaka Gas Chemicals OKP1 Optical Plastic, 25 Kg container with a 1.64 index of refraction.
Osaka Gas Chemicals OKP Optical Plastics are high-purity, optically clear thermoplastics specifically designed for injection molding of high-performance optical components, such as phone and camera lenses and display backlights. OKP materials offer a high refractive index and light transmittance comparable to optical-grade polycarbonate. They also provide high heat resistance to withstand lead-free soldering processes and demonstrate excellent optical and thermal stability.

Benefits:
  • High Refractive Index
  • Enables injection-molded parts with minimal stress-induced distortion
  • Offers a higher refractive index and lower birefringence than polycarbonate
  • Rugged material designed for long-term service life
  • Low Abbe Number allows for improved correction of chromatic aberration
  • Ensures performance stability across various operating conditions
Properties and Melt Flow Rate:
  • Refractive Index: 1.642
  • Abbe Number: 22.3
  • Visible Light Transmittance (%-T at 1mm): 90
  • Birefringence (OGC Method, nm ×10⁻⁴): < 5
  • Melt Flow Rate (MFR, 230°C/2.16kg): 5
Physical and Mechanical Properties:
  • Glass Transition Temperature (Tg): 132°C (269.6°F)
  • Heat Deflection Temperature (HDT, 1.80 MPa): 122°C (with annealing)
  • Water Absorption (24 hours): 0.09%
  • Tensile Strength: 77 MPa
  • Coefficient of Thermal Expansion (CTE): 6.5 × 10⁻⁵/°C
