DISCUSSION: Installation and Cleanliness: It Counts
The most common questions we receive include what is causing our poor IL/RL, how can we ensure clean fiber connections, and do you have specific cleaning techniques during fiber optic cable assembly manufacturing and installation? This discussion is based on the answers and guidance we provide daily!

Discussion topics include:

  • How to verify connector end-faces that meet or exceed industry standards on end-face cleanliness (IEC 61300-3-35)
  • How to identify the number of ways in which the end-face can (and do) become contaminated

DISCUSSION: Fiber Optic Cable Splicing Explained
Full view of both mechanical and fusion methods of splicing and impacts on lowering insertion loss compared to fiber connectors.

Discussion topics include:

  • Splicing types
  • Benefits and applications for cable assembly houses
  • Field installations and severed buried cable solutions

DISCUSSION: MMC Connector Assembly using the new TMT Ferrule
Next generation architectures are driving the need for optical connectivity solutions requiring greater fiber density than can be achieved with current formats.

Discussion topics include:

  • TMT ferrule different dimensions require TMT-specific fixturing and tooling in order to assemble: Identifying the differences
  • Fiber Optic Center Recommended TMT materials and equipment

Attendees can arrange a meeting with one of our Technical Team members by scheduling here, or they can reach out to Kathleen Skelton at kskelton@focenter.com for further scheduling assistance.

Product demonstrations will be held at Hall 8, Booth F54. The complete cable assembly production line, field installation, and specialty applications will be on display, including:
