Technical Expert Available to Discuss Rare Earth Doped Fiber Manufacturing
New Bedford, MA, USA – March 6, 2024 – Fiber Optic Center, Inc., (FOC), an international leading distributor specializing in specialty optical fiber preform equipment selection, process development and manufacturing consultation announces participation at SPIE Photonics Europe 2024.
SPIE Photonics Europe is a leading European event offering exhibits, expert conference speakers and global networking for the most recent breakthroughs and research in optics and photonics.
Booth 326P will offer the global partnership of Fiber Optic Center and SG Controls exhibiting together to combine Fiber Optic Center’s consultation services for process information on preform fabrication, stretching and sleeving operations, preform shaping, fiber drawing, MCVD systems and coating requirements for double clad fibers used for high power fiber laser applications with SG Controls’ premier optical fiber manufacturing equipment.
Neal Weiss and Larry Donalds, Specialty Optical Fiber Expert, will be in attendance and available to discuss options from process consultation to post installation assistance. Specialty fiber and optical fiber process development topics for discussion at Booth 326P include but are not limited to:
- Manufacturing time reduction compared to solution doping
- Anhydrous rare earth in quartz boats
- Fiber performance and photo-darkening
- Controlling the concentrations of various dopants
- OH incorporation, background loss
- The process for making double-clad fibers
During the following days and times:
- Tuesday, April 9 2024 - 10:00am – 5:00pm
- Wednesday, April 10 2024 - 10:00am – 4:00pm
Partnering with Fiber Optic Center for three-decades, the SG Controls team brings their engineering and software expertise, having produced a complete range of tools for manufacturing preforms and optical fiber that includes fiber optic draw towers for high volume production and for research & development, polymer fiber draw towers, MCVD systems for preform production, proof test equipment and rewind systems. SG Controls Equipment offers corrosion-proof gas delivery, state of the art vapor delivery control (seal-less pressure control system requires minimal maintenance), state of the art preform diameter control, MCVD machine controlled by integrated process knowledge and repeatable process controls.
Ethan Weiss, Fiber Optic Center’s Account Manager, will be at booth 326P for your full product line needs, guidance, and discussions.
Attendees can schedule here to meet with one of the team members or email Kathleen Skelton at kskelton@focenter.com.
