New Bedford, MA, USA, July 12, 2022 – Fiber Optic Center, Inc., (FOC), an international leading distributor specializing in helping their customers make the best cable assemblies in the world, announces the latest Corporate Citizen project with the Falmouth Road Race.

FOC is proud to sponsor both Zane Fitzgerald, Account Manager for Fiber Optic Center, Inc. (FOC) and his son, Casey, on their 50th Running of the ASICS Falmouth Road Race on August 21, 2022. Both Zane and Casey Fitzgerald are running to raise awareness and funds to support the Herren Project, a nonprofit to help with recovery, support, inspiration & empowerment for those affected by substance use disorder.

The Herren Project is not new to Zane’s efforts as he stated, “In the last two years I achieved a personal goal of mine to run a marathon by running Boston Marathon Virtually (2020) and Chicago Marathon in front of a crowd (2022). For this Falmouth Road Race, I have the blessing of sharing the experience with my 12 year old son who will be running for the Herren team as well. I look at it as a beautiful experience to enrich our relationship and introduce him to the idea of charity and personal discipline. My hope is when he becomes an adult, thinking of others and how to support those in need is not even a decision to be made but rather second nature.”

Fiber Optic Center is pleased to sponsor Casey for the first time, a 7th grader who loves football, basketball and running and is involved in both cross country and part of a local running club accomplishing 10 miles prior to turning eleven. About The Falmouth Road Race

The Falmouth Road Race was established in 1973 and has become one of the premier running events of the summer season. Each year the race draws an international field of Olympians, elite, and recreational runners out to enjoy the iconic 7-mile seaside course. The nonprofit Falmouth Road Race organization is committed to promoting health and fitness through community programs and philanthropic giving.

About The Herren Project

The Herren Project is a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation established in 2011 by former NBA basketball player Chris Herren, with the goal of helping others navigate the road to recovery from the disease of addiction. The organization has helped thousands of individuals and their families from anywhere within the United States with treatment navigation and family support services as well as brought awareness to substance use prevention. The Herren Project directly supports 1) Treatment navigation and recovery, 2) Support Services and 3) Prevention and Outreach.
