Kent, WA – August 1, 2023 – Light Brigade, the longest-established fiber optic training company in the United States, continues the development of its courses with the release of its newest offering, Splicing Deep Dive Workshop. With a maximum ratio of eight (8) students per instructor, this course blends applicable theory with extensive hands-on practical skills exercises. This two-day workshop has been created in support of the growing demand for properly trained and qualified splice technicians, primarily driven by broadband FTTH projects and the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act Broadband Program.
This course is aimed at Installers, ISP/OSP technicians, maintenance techs, field supervisors, senior technicians, or anyone wanting to establish or improve fusion splicing skills.
This immersive instructor-led workshop focuses on the setup, operation, maintenance, and reporting aspects of fusion splicing. In this predominantly hands-on course, students will learn the proper usage of various types of fusion splicing equipment and best practices for preparing and splicing single fiber, ribbon fiber, and fusion splice connectors. Students will develop expertise through immersive hands-on practice exercises that go beyond typical exposure and manufacturer-hosted training. Other areas covered during the course include cable preparation, proper routing of splice trays, and documenting results. Upon completion, students will be prepared to apply the skills learned in the field. The Splicing Deep Dive Workshop course content includes:
- Theory: Splicing basics overview
