
There are standards for ferrules and connectors. It is important to know the standards for what you are assembling.
- IEC 61754-5 is for MT ferrules
- IEC 61754-7 is for MPO formats
- TIA-604-5 and -18 standards define these connectors
Notably, different MPO versions have varying spring force requirements (1 row or 2 rows) and physical dimensions that prevent mismatching, such as between 12F and 16F connectors.
