Ron Will Enhance Portfolio of Unique Process Development and Customer Support Efforts
New Bedford, MA, USA, April 2023 – Fiber Optic Center, Inc., (FOC), an international leading distributor specializing in helping their customers make the best cable assemblies in the world, announces the addition of Ron Schutjens to its technical team.
Mr. Schutjens joins the FOC technical team with his extensive knowledge of the complete fiber optic assembly process and equipment in high-volume and high-variation environments. After graduating with a MSc. in applied physics, Ron started his career in fiber optics after relocating to Florida. Having more of an affinity for hands-on engineering, he married his education with learning the processes and equipment and quickly moved up to a manufacturing engineer position at a cable assembly house. His experience includes Compulink, later Leviton, mainly serving the commercial telecommunication industry in fiber optics assemblies.

During his time as manufacturing engineer, Ron has been part of many projects for product improvements and qualifications during the design and production scale up phases. At FOC, he will offer his practical experience working directly on the production floor to service customers, embracing challenges, and offering process improvements.
CEO and President of FOC, Ben Waite, shared "When reviewing Ron’s experience, it was clear he would be a good fit with us, but after getting to know him, it became clearer he would be a great fit. His knowledge and attitude are top notch. We are extremely excited to have him aboard and look forward to getting him in front of our customers. They will benefit from his support."
Ron begins his FOC Technical Support and Consulting with Mario Goduco and Daniel Rocheleau for cable assembly line training at the west coast lab, in preparation for the active role FOC takes in supporting customers with both onsite and phone support. The technical staff works closely with managers of high-volume, high quality cable assembly houses, particularly those with technically demanding customers and worldwide operations.
FOC continues to work within its fiber optic industry on advancements necessary for all options on the mission to provide everyone superior broadband. For more information on their mission, FOC can be contacted directly at FiberOpticCenter@focenter.com.
