SmartClass fiber tools give technicians the ability to inspect, test, certify and save results. All in one compact device, making it easy for them to complete the jobs correctly and on time the first time. Let's take a closer look at the different tools in the smart glass fiber family. Next is the OLP-82 series, which has all of the capabilities of the HD4i, plus an integrated optical power meter.
It functions the same way as the USB-PM, but also lets the user set a pass/fail limit for their absolute power measurement so that users can save measurements and later generate a certification report that proves the optical power levels all passed the desired requirements. Another great feature with Spark plus fiber is the dedicated Patch Cord microscope option integrated directly on the device.
Inspecting both ends of a fiber connection is critical, but using the probe requires two different tips: One for the patch cord and another for the bulkhead. By having a dedicated microscope for inspecting the male end, the probe can be used specifically for inspecting the connector behind the bulkhead, which saves significant time and drives workflow efficiencies.
